Actually this is just an old piece that I added a little presentation to. "It's got a Victoriana-feel".

And a Baby Elephant
???...Just attempting cartooney stuff. Wouldn't hurt to bring that far-rear leg in a little, but my Ps needs a rest.

Quick sketch
I've been watching Steve Huston's tutorials on New Master's Academy. I highly recommend that site. You're not guaranteed to shade way too "airbrush-like", as is the case here (I was in a hurry, my daughter's mantis needed a grasshopper caught...the mantis has needs!) but you are going to learn stuff.

just a sketch
I made or rearranged an old brush for a more painterly feel and thought I'd try it out. It's alright, but I liked the sketch.

New Gallery "Projects" added to natehealy.com
There's a bit more to be added and a bunch that won't be, but it shows some of what I did for Shiver, besides sometimes winning at doubles ping pong and dominating with the Jazz on NBA JAM! www.natehealy.com

Get some...gear!
I finally got some time to throw a bit of gear at him. The weapons are based on scythes from India. Many of the weapons that google shows for India are quite shapely and curved; some didn't even seem plausible. So they should work great for Warcraft fanart. The little one hander might need a bit more girth. Looking at it now, it seems a little weak. Overall though, I like the asymmetry of the silhouette.
I tweaked the torso for a bit more serpentine shape, after some critique from my good man Adam Glueckert!

Blizzcon Art Contest...Maybe
I hope to have time to model and texture this guy. I'm not sold on the facial hair, but we'll see. His outfit will be along the lines of the Thuggee cult of India...well sort of. Belt, sash, yada yada. But they are best known for killing lots of people on the down low and are the bad guys in "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom". The character itself is loosely based on a type of crocodilian that eats fish in the rivers of India called the Gharial.

Mural for the Cannibal
This project was a lot of fun! The art team at lagoon had me on a loose leash and were very easy to work with. This thing is billboard sized-14'x48' I think. I need to get a picture in front of it.
The file almost choked the life out of my photoshop. Trying to warp things and run filters on an 8-10gig file was always a "fingers crossed" situation, but it worked out.

A little of what I been workin' on lately
Monday, April 20, 2015
I Went back to my high-poly workshop character. Lots to do, but I thought I should get some subtools in here. I've been in photoshop so much lately that I've forgotten how much fun zbrush can be.
A little update. Now to finish the body sculpt!
Some real abs, veins and such!
I had a little bit of time this weekend to put in some pores and skin. Tried some alphas I found online...but none of them really worked that well. I pretty much just use one or two default alphas from the menu.

The CatHulk
I decided to enter Game Artisan's Comic-con challenge. The requirements are that the image be a fusion of two superheroes and or villains into one. I chose Catwoman and the Incredible Hulk. It will probably change a bit before the final entry, but here it is so far.
Here's an attempt to unify color a bit more and tone down the surface glow while cranking the back light. Now it's late though and my eyes are burning...so this may be a 3am mistake.
