Aahooaghgaaawa!

Lately during the late nights at Gnomon we've been having a Schwarzenegger marathon on the big screen. We put on the subtitles, which is funny because we are pretty much just listening to it while we work. But I did look up to catch the title for this post. So here's to Arny.

"what is that...velvet?"

I might not have tried hard enough, but I really wanted to get a "Coming to America" shot for James E., but this one will have to do.

An oldy but, in my opinion a goody

I was thinking about using this as a new header, but then got busy and kinda forgot about it. I thought I'd throw it on here before deleting it off of my desktop. I hate the white outline, but when I made it I really didn't know what I was doing.

Texas Strangers-Face Off

Here it is with some colors thrown on, I'm sure the teach will have some changes for me, but now I have to make a heavy, medium and small villain group.

Just added some more flare to the gang. I just realized that my cowboy is gonna need to bend his right upper leg a bit more and possibly hitch up his britches. Still need to add the drop shadows and some lighting and this should be good to go...well and some color.

Apparently it's a common practice to use photos to enhance concept art...feels kinda like cheating, but the results are kinda cool.

Heavy, Medium and lite...This is Heavy

Probably won't use this guy, but I like the pose.

Still need to better define the hands/gloves, but should have the medium and lite soon.

Lights, Camera...lights!?

I blame all the tools I used for the way this turned out. I was happy with it though considering I had to redo a semester's worth of work in a week.

Mp5 SD

My first gun. It was brought to my attention that I forgot the rear sight...that overrated part is on back order along with the ambidextrous fire selection switch(this is a lefty's gun, the switch actually is on the other side).

First Ideas for Bear "thing"

These next few posts are a hodge-podge from my production design class. We collectively chose the movie "The Thing" to remake in our own way. I chose to make my characters bears at a remote fish hatchery. I didn't put everything up or in exact order but here are some of the concepts.

RIP NURBS! I hope

Chasing proportions around my parent's faces

During the break I worked on portraits for my parents. I wish I'd had more time to work on my Mom's color version but I had to get in the car and head back to California.

I'm doing a bear themed design for a redo of "the Thing", here are a few character profiles

Value study of the old man

still need to fix the smile and a few other odds and ends but I thought I'd post something. I should have a color version in a week or two.
